Jeannie Hall is better known as the Bossy Baker. She’s a fan of butter, flour, sugar, and eggs and she lives for turning those simple ingredients into wonderful cakes, pies, cookies and more. Recently she joined us at Tin Roof Farm where she got to hold chickens, and helped us gather eggs from the chicken barn. After we shared bowls of hot chicken gumbo with rice and some of our own hot sauce, she sat down with my pastry chef wife, Amy, and they talked about the wonder of flour and butter, what to make for a neighbor when there’s a death in the family, and the time needed to turn a cake into edible art.
